Law Day is a national day to celebrate the rule of law and its contributions to the freedoms Americans enjoy as well as remember and recognize the positive influence of law in the U.S.
Law Day had its origin in 1957, when American Bar Association (ABA) President Charles S. Rhyne envisioned a special day for celebrating our legal system. Law Day falls on May 1st of each year, Law Day (and in some cases, Law Week) events and programs are planned and carried out by bar associations, courts, and other entities. The American Bar Association (ABA) selects a theme each year for the events.
The 35th District Court celebrates law day over the period of one week while hosting a wide variety of educational events for local middle schools.
